Hot, Hot, South Dakota

Dan had a banking conference and so we got to spend the week camping in the Black Hills. I have yet to retrieve the iphone pics for Devil’s Tower. How could I forget my camera?

Even though it was very, very hot (105 degrees) and our air didn’t work one day due to a clogged filter, it was all good just the same. I made about a gazillion meals ahead of time so the camper fridge was stacked and the kids got to play at the pool and feed the farm animals twice daily.

We got to see downtown Deadwood and have natural sodas  to cool off—did I mention it was HOT? When did that become all casinos?? The kids got to pan for gold at the Broken Boot Gold Mine and we saw 1880’s town too. I think the kids need to see Dances with Wolves because they had NO idea who Kevin Costner was, hehe.

The Black Hills or Badlands were amazing. The kids kept asking where the “good lands” were!
