Here is how we make chai tea!
Two organic cinnamon sticks (pound with a hammer to make it easier to grind)
Two star anise pods (I was out!)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp fennel
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp fenugreek (I love fenugreek!)
fresh ginger to taste
Two black cardamom pods
Two green cardamom pods
Loose tea, if desired (I often use oolong or green pearls)
Optional: licorice root is amazing too (also out of stock in the Jensen house)

Crush the spices in a mortar and pestle or in a spice grinder. Use one or two tablespoons of mix for every two servings (take more often if under the weather). Boil in hot water until fragrant and strain. You may also use a mesh tea ball if you have a powder fine mix. Add warmed coconut milk and sweetener, if desired.
